i have a kenwood 300 watt and jl W0's 10 inch.... well when im playing my music the amp likes to cut off and it makes a thump thump thump sound when i have a song on pause.. when the amp cuts off its not even hot at all and i play it for 10 minutes and it does this.. i think its either my speaker wire or wires to close to each other, maybe i need new power cable and stuff or it might be my rca's.. i just need new ones... any ideas let me know

Hard to say for sure.... but it sounds like your amp may be going into protect mode here.

The JL sub, is that a DVC or SVC version? Are you using 1 or more subs here? If more than 1 sub, how are the subs wired together and to the amp?

If a single SVC, then I assume it is a 4 ohm sub. This means you can bridge the amp and wire the 4 ohm sub to the bridged amp. Keep your gain controls below 50% of max or you might fry the sub. Use the bass boost control sparingly. (+3-6dB boost max.)

If using 2 or more JL subs, wiring them properly to amp is a must.

If using 2 or more JL's in parallel, you may have a 2 or 1.3 ohms load here. If that Kenwood is a 2 channel amp and you bridge it to MONO mode... it will not function properly as it cannot take ohm loads below 4 ohms when bridged.

Also, double check all power/ground wiring and RCA's for tight, solid connections.

Can you expand on exactly what amp and how many subs are used here?
