| Help Us Help You by SWEZ
| Hi folks, I have some suggestions to make things flow better: Read the FAQ's and other posted replies a bit more please, then....
1. State your question, problem or concern in the clearest terms possible
2. Details are important and the more detail you can give, the better we can answer all the issues and options that may apply to your install
3. Tell us what gear you have now or planning to buy soon. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! We can save you many extra steps, $$$ and headaches later, if we know the "Big Picture" up front! A budget figure is always helpful. That way, we can steer you to the best deals in that price range. If you dont have a big picture yet, take the time to hash it out and read what others are doing that appeal to your interests. A big aid in help you best!!!
4. Try to break up your topic and comments in small bites, if you have several issues or sub-topics that all interact upon each other. Many have employed this technique well and we, (The Golds) will really appreciate those who follow a similar format. Is more work for us to read your minds or have to guess and perhaps give poor advice because we did not get sufficient details. Finally, if you choose to use the phrase... "Some guy told me I should do thus and so"... Ask yourself this question: "WOULD I PAY THIS GUY TO DO MY INSTALL?" If you answer NO, then PLEASE... dont take that fellows advice or pass it about here. There is so much mis-information going around in this field. Avoid being a "carrier" of this common ailment OK?
We Share Knowledge
Yes, CK is all about sharing knowledge on many topics and we all love to see fresh blood in the mix. (It has been very slow here and other sites of late as people are cutting back on such projects when money is tight)
Many of the Gold's have been here a long time and are either in the business of Mobile Electronics or have done some extensive audio work in Pro and Commercial projects as well. Our talent pool is deep and well stocked with skilled people from many backgrounds. Today, we are still in the game while other sites folded. Why? Because we all have a passion for this field and enjoy serving and teaching others that come for advice.
A few years ago, this site was buzzing with new people. Today, the picture has changed a bit. Some Golds have moved on and are doing other things. But at the core, we still have key players to meet others needs as they come in. Tell your friends about us and let them come and learn and participate as well.
Finally, we do take appropriate pride, (Not arrogance) in offering high quality technical support for those who rely on that experience. As you learn & grow, who knows... you too could become a team member if you wish.
Note the absents of "product bashing and personal attacks" toward our readers and/or internal team players? That's what makes CK so unique. We treat others like we want to be treated. Those who stir up conflict or attempt to spam or give out bad advice, are quickly dealt with or blocked from this site. Yes, we've been through all that and more to be sure. But, after 10 years on the Internet, our standards remain high and untarnished.
